Ron is a professional fine art photographer in historic Jacksonville, Oregon and has been working at his art since 1980. He has attended workshops in the Monterey Bay area from noted instructors such as: Kim Weston, Rod Dresser, Richard Garrod and John Sexton. Ron travels around the western states and other areas whenever possible to seek out new images.
Ron uses medium and large format cameras and does his own film developing, print processing, matting and framing. The major portion of his fine art photography work has been black and white landscapes. These fine art prints are custom printed upon your purchase.
Recently, Ron has added a new direction to his photography by creating large digital panoramas. This is a collaborative effort with Dee. Ron takes the images and Dee makes any refinements and adjustments.
My fine art photography uses camera & computer. I have found these two instruments, alone or combined, have created the biggest challenges and most rewarding results of any art form I have experienced. I have taken workshops and private training from noted professional digital photography insturctor David Vanderlip to help me shorten the learning curve so I can focus on the creative aspects of my art .
Art has always brought joy to my life - oil painting, pastels and jewelry design to name a few. Each has allowed me to challenge myself and grow.
Shooting and then developing those images digitally via the computer, allows my creative spirit to soar. Each image is different and unique, each speaks to me, and I hope through my interpretation, will speak to you too.
